Padstow Christmas Festival
4 – 7 December 2014
One of the best Christmas markets in Europe
Touted by Lonely Planet as one of the top ten ‘delightfully different Christmas markets in Europe’, Padstow certainly lives up to its culinary reputation with its wonderful Christmas Festival celebration, now in its 7th year. One of the biggest free food festivals’ in Europe, over 100 local artisans and producers and more than 40 chefs will take part including top names such as Angela Hartnett, Phil Vickery, Nathan Outlaw, Michael Caines and of course Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth who have restaurants in Padstow.
Taking place by the quayside, mouth-watering festival kitchen demos will be accompanied by bustling craft markets in the marquees and a fantastic range of Cornish tasty treats including ales, ciders and beers from local producers will be available. A new edition of the Padstow Festival Cookbook will also be on sale, available at the festival and at selected locations around Padstow.
The beautiful Harbour will be traditionally lit up in a festive display of lights all accompanied by music and merriment. Stock up on unique gifts, join in with carol singing, ask questions to the chefs in the foodie forum, watch Santa arrive on his horse-drawn Victorian bus, enjoy the firework display or work off some of the tempting tastings by dressing as a Santa and joining the Santa Fun Run in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care.
