Sunshine for RNAS Culdrose Air Day
Wow, this may well be a first for a number of years! I don’t want to jinx things but the forecast looks as though it will be great for the RNAS Culdrose Air day on Wednesday 24th July. It usually rains so it will be a welcome change to enjoy dry weather and a bit of sunshine will be a real bonus.
It’s the one day of the year to experience the sights, sounds and smells of this Royal Naval air base, watch flying displays, meet the aircrew and generally have a great day out. This year promises to be one of the best. There will be the chance to have a go in a simulator piloting a helicopter, watch the Royal Navy Field gun teams, enjoy entertainment by the Royal Marines Band and marvel at the motorcycle display team. If that is not enough excitement then there will be a parachute jump, the world-famous Red Arrows and a display by Police dogs (no, I don’t mean they will be flying!)
Ticket prices on the day are £15 for adults, £5 for children 5 – 15 years and under 5s are free. Family tickets are also available for 2 adults and 2 children at £35. It’s worth noting that once inside, most attractions are free.
Car parking is also free, so head to Helston this Wednesday and don’t forget your sunscreen and camera.
