‘Summer in February’ on location in Cornwall
Breaks in Cornwall are delighted to welcome the cast and crew of the deeply moving film “Summer in February” which is based on a true story and set amongst the coves and cliffs of beautiful Lamorna in far west Cornwall.
This enchanting tale of the bohemian Lamorna group focuses on the love triangle between the charismatic A J Munnings, the young aspiring painter Florence Carter-Wood and the more reserved land manager Gilbert Evans. The Lamorna estate was popular with artists and produced some of the greatest Cornish artworks of the period.
The film is set just before the Great War of 1914 in the picturesque fishing village situated on the Penwith peninsula, just 4 miles south of Penzance and within easy driving distance of villas, apartments, cottages and the Porth Veor Manor hotel near Newquay. The unique Cornish views, cobbled streets and quiet coves are seen to their most beautiful advantage in this film which is now showing in cinemas across Britain. Starring Dominic Cooper, Emily Browning and Dan Stevens, “Summer in February” is enchanting and passionate and makes the most of the timeless Cornish coastline.
